This year's FMR was a blast! Our own Keri Spetzer was responsible for organizing the event and she couldn't have done a better job. The workshops were helpful and fun to attend (I would highly recommend the Icebreakers workshop) and it was special to get to serve a different community. One of the best things about the Fall Membership Retreat was that we got to meet people from Circle K clubs all around Georgia. I sometimes forget that there are other students at different places that are working on the same goals. Not only did we meet people with similar passions, we also got to share ideas. I personally came back with a couple ideas to make Georgia College's Circle K even better. In addition to interacting with different schools, we also grew closer to each other. It was a nice car ride of talking and bonding as a club. Hopefully even more people can go next year, because I know everyone who went this year would encourage you to attend.
November 1, 2013: A herd of Circle K'ers were spotted in Covington, GA at the FFA/FCCLA Camp Ground. They greeted each other and did a few cheers before making some s'mores. The next day was filled with workshops, canoeing, relays, and soccer. That night was full of games and an epic movie. Sunday was a day of tears, hugs and goodbyes, but because of paper mailboxes everyone left with notes from friends new and old and promises to see each other at the next event. On October 11, Georgia District Circle K'ers got together at the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Home in LaGrange. After a night of getting to know each other and plenty of games, they woke up bright and early to help set up a playground! Check out some pictures below. |
